Intr-un castron se amesteca otetul, zaharul, ienibaharul, scortisoara rupta in bucati, mustarul si uleiul. Se curata ceapa, se taie in felii subtiri si apoi se introduce in compozitia din castron, lasandu-se circa 2-3 ore. Se scot chefalii din apa rece si se aseaza pe un platou.si se toarna peste ei aceasta compozitie.
